This Privacy Policy explains how Cash 4 Vehicles ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information. We are a New Zealand vehicle buyer and dismantler operating nationwide, purchasing damaged, deregistered and unwanted vehicles.

• Ownership & verification details — proof of ownership and identification, which we may need to confirm before purchase and to meet our legal obligations.
• Payment details — bank account details where you ask to be paid by transfer.
• Communications — messages you send us by WhatsApp, phone, email, SMS or social media.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you:

• Complete a quote form on our website;
• Message us on WhatsApp, call, text or email us;
• Contact us through our Facebook page or other social media;
• Deal with us when we collect and pay for your vehicle.

Where practicable, we collect information directly from you. If we need to verify vehicle ownership, we may check publicly available or official records (for example, a security-interest check).

4. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• Prepare and provide a cash quote for your vehicle;
• Contact you about your quote and arrange collection;
• Verify ownership and process the purchase and payment;
• Meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, including notifying the relevant authority (e.g. NZTA Waka Kotahi) of a change in vehicle ownership or that a vehicle has been dismantled;
• Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
• Improve our services and website.

We will only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless you consent otherwise or we are required or permitted by law.

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We may share it only where necessary with:

• Service providers who help us operate — for example towing/transport contractors, payment providers, and IT or hosting providers — who are required to protect your information;
• Government agencies such as NZTA Waka Kotahi, the Police or Inland Revenue, where required to record a change of ownership or to comply with the law;
